21τύχει ἀγαθεῖ, δεδόχθαι τεῖ βουλεῖ· τοὺς προέ–
22δρους, οἵτινες ἂν λάχωσι προεδρεύειν ἐν τῶι
23δήμωι εἰς τὴν ἐπιοῦσαν ἐκκλησίαν χρηματί–

6Haupt-Volksversammlung; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung
7Aischines S.d. Nikomachos aus dem Demos Anaphlystos und seine Mitvorsitzenden.
8Beschluss von Rat und Volk; Euboulos
9S.d. Charidemos aus dem Demos Melite stellte den Antrag: Da die Offiziere
10unter dem Archon Lysitheides alle Opfer, die sie zu opfern
11verpflichtet waren, zusammen mit den Generälen aus eigenen Mitteln
12geopfert haben für den Rat und das Volk;
13ie auch Sorge getragen haben ein jeder für seine
14Phyle, damit sie, auf das beste ausgestattet
15mit Waffen, zu den Wachen und zum Begleitschutz
16und zu Paraden ausrücken; sie
17stets auch in allen anderen Belangen Gehorsam
18geleistet haben den Generälen gemäß den
19Gesetzen; – Damit nun auch der Rat und das Volk in öffentlicher
20Weise diejenigen ehrt, die ihnen Dienste erweisen,
21zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die
22Vorsitzenden, die erlost sein werden zum Vorsitz im
23Volk für die kommende Volksversammlung, hierüber
24verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates
25in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat beschließt,
26dass man belobige die Offiziere unter dem Archon Lysitheides
27und bekränze einen jeden von ihnen
28mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz wegen ihrer
29Leistung und ihres Ehrgeizes für den Rat und
30das Volk der Athener; dass ihnen auch sein soll ein Ehrensitz
31bei alle den Festspielen, die die Stadt ausrichtet;
32dass diesen Beschluss der Sekretär, der
33während der Prytanien amtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele,
34und auch die Namen der Offiziere, und aufstelle vor
35der Generalität; dass für die Aufzeichnung
36die Finanzverwalter 10 Drachmen erstatten.

2In the archonship of Pytharatos, in the second
3prytany, of Antigonis, for which Isegoros son of Isokrates
4of Kephale was secretary; on the ninth
5of Metageitnion, the seventh of the prytany.
6Principal Assembly. Of the presiding committee Aischines
7son of Nikomachos of Anaphlystos was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding committee members.
8The Council and People decided. Euboulos
9son of Charidemos of Melite proposed: since the commanders of tribal regiments
10of the archonship of Lysitheides have made
11with the generals as many of the sacrifices as they should have made,
12all from their own resources, for the Council and the People,
13and each managed his own tribe
14so that they would proceed equipped with arms
15as well as possible to the guard-posts and camps
16and inspections, and they continued
17in all other respects to obey
18the generals in charge in accordance with the laws;
19so, therefore, that the Council and People are seen
20to be honouring those who are of service to them,
21for good fortune, the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee
22allotted to preside in the
23People at the coming Assembly shall put the matter
24on the agenda and submit the opinion
25of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council
26to praise the commanders of tribal regiments of the archonship
27of Lysitheides and to crown each of them
28with a gold crown according to the law for their excellence
29and love of honour for the Council and
30Athenian People; and they shall have front row
31seats at all the competitions the city puts on;
32and the prytany secretary shall inscribe
33this decree on a stone stele
34along with the names of the commanders of the tribal regiments, and stand it
35before the headquarters; and for inscribing
36the board of administrators shall allocate 10 drachmas.
